Dr. Jonathan Fan
Jonathan Fan is a research analyst at the Institute for Work & Health (IWH), specializing in workers’ compensation data. He is also a research scientist at the Partnership for Work, Health and Safety at the University of British Columbia.
Fan has a PhD in epidemiology from the University of Toronto's Dalla Lana School of Public Health (DLSPH), and an MPH from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
Fan originally joined the Institute as he started his PhD studies in epidemiology at the University of Toronto. His PhD studies focused on understanding age differences in return-to-work and wage-replacement duration outcomes among injured workers. During his PhD, Fan was the recipient of a Leonard Syme Training Fellowship in Work and Health from IWH, as well as an Andrea Sass-Kortsak Award from DLSPH for students engaged in research relevant to occupational health.
