Released in the last quarter of every year, the Institute for Work & Health (IWH)’s Annual Report takes a look back at the previous fiscal year. The report includes a theme-based narrative on the fiscal year’s research and knowledge transfer and exchange activities, a look at the year in numbers, and the report of the independent auditors based on their annual review of the Institute’s financial statements.
The 2017 Annual Report highlights the Institute’s recent work on some of the emerging and challenging societal issues that also affect workplace health, safety and productivity: cannabis/opioids, violence, vulnerability, dangerous work and mental illness. It also profiles other research and knowledge exchange activities undertaken by the Institute in 2017 as part of our ongoing mission to help protect and improve the health and safety of working people.
Please note that the financials included in this report cover the fiscal year April 1, 2017 to March 31, 2018. This is our first annual report reflecting our new March 31 year-end, which was changed from the previous December 31 year-end to align with that of the Ontario Ministry of Labour in order to facilitate integration of planning, activities and reporting.
