The 21st annual Mining Health and Safety Conference, hosted by Workplace Safety North, is themed "Preparing for high-risk emergencies in mines" in recognition of the 90-year anniversary of Ontario Mine Rescue.

An anticipated 300 attendees will gather together to learn and share their knowledge about mining health and safety, and network with industry professionals. Conference presentations will focus on:

  • emergency preparedness and mine rescue
  • research and innovation
  • safety culture and management systems
  • workplace well-being and mental health
  • hazards specific to underground work.

The Institute for Work & Health will be at the conference with our table-top display on Wednesday, April 10. Drop by and say hello, and learn more about our latest research and how it can help you improve your mining health and safety programs and culture. You'll find us in the dining room.
