The University of Toronto's Dalla Lana School of Public Health (DLSPH), in partnership with the Institute for Work & Health (IWH), presents the John R. Evans Lectureship in Global Health featuring Dr. Joan Benach, director of the Health Inequalities Research Group at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, Spain.
In his lecture, Dr. Benach will talk about global work precarity and its impact on health equity. He will explore issues related to the complexity of employer-employee power relations, working conditions, levels of social protections, and the reality of employment-related health inequalities with the advent of the gig economy. The lecture is free and open to the public.
IWH President Dr. Cam Mustard is moderating the event, which also includes a panel discussion with DLSPH's Dr. Donald Cole, Dr. Erica Di Ruggiero and Juyeon Lee.
