The Schedule 2 Employers' Group in Ontario is holding its 30th annual conference exploring the latest trends, current issues and new advancements in the fields of employee wellness, workplace health and safety, workers’ compensation, and disability management. The conference takes place north of Toronto, in Richmond Hill, Ontario, on October 2-3, 2019.

The conference offers keynote presentations, 40-plus educational sessions and a 30th anniversary networking reception. Among those presenting educational sessions are two Institute for Work & Health scientists.

Scientist Dr. Dwayne Van Eerd, along with Tamra Ellis, founder and clinical supervisor at the Centre for Rehabilitation and Health in Toronto, are leading a morning session on the first day of the conference on research- and practice-based workplace strategies that support employees with depression. The session includes an interactive discussion about current practices and implementation challenges related to supporting employees with depression.

Senior Scientist Dr. Emile Tompa is joining Maureen Haan, president and CEO of the Canadian Council on Rehabilitation and Work, in a session that is introducing participants to a new pan-Canadian strategy on disability and work that is being launched in December 2019 and explaining workplaces can use and benefit from the new strategy. The objective of the strategy is to bring together employers, labour, governments, disability organizations, researchers and people with disabilities to improve the employment and re-employment of Canadians with disabilities.

The Schedule 2 Employer's Group conference also features a trade show, and IWH will be there. Drop by our booth to learn about our research-based resources and information products and how they can help you improve your health, safety and disability prevention programs.
