Cynthia Chen is an analyst/biostatistician in the Data and Information Systems Program at the Institute for Work & Health. She coordinates the planning and allocation of analytic resources at the Institute and also chairs the Quantitative Methods Presentation series.

Since joining the Institute in 2005, Chen has provided statistical support for projects across the Institute’s range of activities. She is currently working with Dr. Aviroop Biswas, examining how the distinct environments identified around the Canadian homes and workplaces are associated with Active Transportation use by cluster analysis and regression models. She is also working with Dr. Faraz Shahidi to describe the ‘types’ of jobs on offer in the labour market using latent class analysis and to understand how workers transition over time between the different ‘types’ of jobs available.

Chen received a master’s degree in biostatistics from the University of Toronto.
