Erin Oliver
City of Sault Ste Marie
Erin Oliver is a health and safety coordinator at the City of Sault Ste Marie. She also owns a company that helps to build health and safety leaders through individualized coaching and mentoring. She also develops programs, training and structures for leaders and their companies to strive toward prevention and a culture of safe and healthy workplaces.
Oliver is both a regulated kinesiologist and a Canadian Registered Safety Professional. She has been a participating member of the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) and a past president for the Ontario Kinesiology Association (OKA). She also took an active role with the OKA Board through the regulatory process that saw kinesiology move from a self-governed profession to a regulated one in Ontario.
Oliver has participated in many occupational health and safety associations and committees throughout North America, including at the Institute for Work & Health. She has also sat on the Ontario Prevention Council, including acting as council chair.
Oliver has a degree in kinesiology from Laurentian University and advanced education in mental health, forensics and business management. She has been a professor at University of Guelph-Humber and at University of Toronto in the kinesiology departments.
