Leslie Vesely (she/her) is a research associate at the Institute for Work and Health (IWH). She holds an MA in Social Anthropology from York University and an MSc in Couple and Family Therapy from the University of Guelph. She is a qualitative researcher and a Registered Psychotherapist.

Prior to IWH, Vesely worked at Women’s College Hospital supporting research on privacy concerns related to the commercialization of personal health information in primary care. She is passionate about mental health and dedicated to producing critical and socially just research that can have a meaningful impact on community health and wellbeing. Her published work includes topics surrounding the regulation of psychotherapy in Ontario and gendered power dynamics in couples’ therapy. 

Vesely is currently working with Dr. Basak Yanar and Dr. Cameron Mustard exploring employers’ perspectives on the return-to-work process for public safety personnel who experienced post-traumatic stress injuries in Ontario.
