Momtaz Begum joined the Institute in March 2017 as a research associate working on a project looking at employment preparation services for newcomers to Canada, especially regarding safety at work.
She came to the Institute under Access Alliance's Immigrant Insight Scholar fellowship program for internationally educated researchers/analysts Access Alliance. As part of the fellowship, Begum is also working on a project at McMaster University in Hamilton looking at the workers’ compensation experiences of injured workers.
Begum received her master’s degree in public health from the University of Melbourne in Australia. She is currently studying workplace wellness and health promotion at Centennial College in Toronto. She is a qualitative researcher interested in health research, and has worked at multiple research organizations in Australia, Bangladesh and Canada.
