Sharmigaa Ragunathan
Sharmigaa Ragunathan is a research associate at the Institute of Work and Health (IWH). Currently, she is working with Dr. Dwayne Van Eerd on projects looking at the implementation of post-traumatic stress injury (PTSI) programs in Alberta first responder organizations, and the implementation of a comprehensive accommodation and reintegration program in a police service.
Prior to joining the Institute in April 2023, Ragunathan worked as a research coordinator at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital. There, she provided research support for various projects focusing on the social determinants of health, inclusion of children and youth with disabilities in different settings, and virtual health-care experiences in a pediatric rehabilitation hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, Ragunathan managed research projects on the academic skills of English Language Learning elementary school students, both as a graduate research student and graduate assistant at the University of Toronto.
Ragunathan received her master’s degree in school and clinical child psychology from the University of Toronto’s Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), as well as an honours bachelor of science from the University of Toronto.
