Advancing research on AI adoption and the health, safety and well-being of workers
Reasons for the study
Advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) will continue to transform working conditions and the ways job tasks are performed, and impact the demand for workers in potentially positive and negative ways. We currently know little about how the design and adoption of AI within workplaces will shape the health, safety and wellbeing of workers across different industries and occupations. This project aims to generate this evidence to better enable WorkSafeBC to develop policies and programs that optimize the benefits of AI for worker health.
Objectives of the study
- Identify, in real time, the emerging AI trends and implications for working conditions and the health of workers.
- Advance AI data analysis infrastructure and application.
- Conduct workplace-based research on the impact of AI adoption.
